History
In December 2015, God had called Scot and Dawn McClymont to begin the process of moving forward to start a new non-denominational church in the Smyrna/Clayton Delaware area. With much deliberate prayer and counsel, a leadership team was formed by 4 families in the area and 4 The World Ministries began to take shape in the beginning of 2016. We met in Scot and Dawn’s home for several months and officially launched 4 The World Ministries on September 18, 2016.
The name of the church comes from a quote from Eric Liddell, a Scottish athlete who won gold in the 1924 Olympics, that he shared with a host of reporters after telling them that he wouldn’t be back for the 1928 Olympic Games because he was continuing the mission work in China that his parents had started. When asked why, Eric replied, “Christ for the World, for the World needs Christ!” That statement sums up everything that we are called to do as Christians and the visible church so we made that our name. The logo itself also incorporates the Gospel message. The world with the Cross of Christ in the center. The Cross is green which signifies life and the red flow at the bottom is that we are only saved by Christ’s once-for-all work on that Cross.
We currently worship each Sunday at 5136 DuPont Parkway, Smyrna, DE 19977 at 9 am every Sunday where we speak the truth of God’s Word and proclaim the Gospel in all aspects of our corporate worship.
